Title: Myers' Farms Nearly Completed Gypsy!
Post by: myersfarms on March 05, 2012, 07:56:11 AM
Hiya Gang!
Over the weekend I was able to finally put all of the pieces of my Gypsy together.  I was in the basement due to the weather and had a lot of nothing to do so, here she is without further ado!

Please let me know what you think! Thanks!

So where did you end up getting the foam for the lips?

Believe it or not that is the dark grey stuff.  I just painted it, and painted it, and painted it, and painted it again...  I bought the spray on vynil dye from Pep Boys, and though it flakes off, it is the right color so I just touch up the lips as needed.  I have an idea on how to seal them, but I have to wait until the weather warms back up to try it out.  Stupid winter weather...>:(    ;D

Can you please post the info about the paint?  I'd like to pick up a can or two.

Easy solution would be to create a "kick stand" that holds the mouth slightly open for display purposes

That's a really good idea.  What I thought of doing was adding a hook or an extra bolt or the like to the back of the body tubing to act as a key ring holder which I can hang her mouth control on to keep her mouth slightly open.  I may also have to replace the springs with weaker ones as her mouth doesn't open quickly when I pull on the ring controling her lower jaw.  I'll figure it out eventually, lol.  :-\
