Anyone know what these are going for these days?  I need to sell mine.  Need being the operative word.  The kids braces aren't going to pay for themselves.

Any fellow Clash of Clan players out there interested in joining a MST3k clan?  I'm in one!  Called... yeah... MST3k.  The clan number is #90QG90VJ  Huzzah!

I got a chance to see some live riffing this weekend!  Trace Beaulieu and Frank Conniff at the Voodoo Comedy Playhouse here in Denver.  Top notch show and I dragged my Crow along.  He now sports some cool ink.  Absolutely the coolest thing EVER!

Photos Galore! / Bots go to the fair!

I entered my bots into the 'Robot- Non-Functional' category at the Geek Pavilion at the Denver County Fair.  I didn't win anything- the only other guy who entered, building little bots out of found part took all 3 ribbons- but apparently, they were the most photographed items at the Geek Pavilion, and the most recognizable.  A friend who was working there said people went nuts for them- so that salves the non-ribbon blues.  Should have entered them in the Models category- I would have cleaned up.

I found a white 2" binder with plastic coverings that you can throw custom covers into- including the spine.  I whipped up one of these to put all the screen shots, tips, and instructions I've collected over the years-

I used Perpetua size 300 for E-Z
Britannic Bold size 300 for BOT
and TW Cen MT Cond size 182 for REPAIR
For the spine, I used size 182 for all the fonts

Since I'm not terribly design savvy, I just did it in Word, printed it, cut out the elements, placed them correctly and then printed a final on Grey stock- for both the cover and the spine.  I'll get pictures later-ish.  Now, I know that I don't have the right fonts, but again.. not design savvy.  Anyone have better information on this?  The REPAIR looks like it may have been custom done.  Cheers.

Last newbie post of the day.  I built both my Crow and Servo with ease of breaking them down in mind- mechanical connections and pipe connectors when possible- so they'd be easier to transport.  I'm also a sci fi costumer- 501st and USCM- and I am sold on the plastic 'foot lockers' you can get at the Container Store for about $30.  I'm thinking of getting a couple of these and customizing them for traveling to cons with the boys.  How have you lot dealt with this?  Cheers!

Tom Servo / First Servo

I've had a collection of Servo heads for ages, but I finally got a full Tommy boy built.  Need to work on controls, and I also went a coat over the line, but I won't be losing too much sleep over it...  much.

Crow T. Robot / First Crow and a beak question
« on: July 17, 2012, 01:05:07 PM »
Just finished my Crow on Sunday, and with the exception of the beak, I'm damn pleased, especially since I built him in something of a vacuum.  I did the whole 'incomplete cut of mouth as hinge' thing, and I've got paint chip problems all over the place.  I did get a hold of an 'e' pin though, so I've decided that the current beak is a 'trial run'.  How do most of you lot handle the mouth hinge?  Also- I've not really worked terribly hard on the controls, so I'll be 'liberating' some of the great ideas I've seen here.   Cheers!

Heya all,
New guy here.  I've finally gotten off my butt and some 20 odd years after I found my first Servo head at a thrift shop have finally completed my first bots.  I should have come here first.  Better late then never!
