Crow T. Robot / Crow has a problem. Down there.
« on: November 02, 2015, 07:50:08 PM »
I feel like I have a pretty good handle on Crow's eye mechanism in his head, but I wonder if you all could share pictures, diagrams, concepts, etc. for how it all comes together...down there.

I'm wondering about specifics--how much pipe below the bottom Floralier? How does the "popsicle stick" mechanism work? Where exactly did you put it, and what's it made from? And, well...just about anything you'd care to pass on.

I'm very close to finishing my Art--this is really the last major hurdle. Share with me, won't you?

Crow T. Robot / The wrist bone's connected to the...?
« on: October 18, 2015, 01:51:22 PM »
Finally was able to get the remaining parts necessary to finish my Art--woohoo! But I'm wondering how the cylindrical wrist-end of the grabby hand is connected to the "guitar pick" wrist joint. I'm guessing drilling through the cylinder is involved, but haven't seen this specified anywhere. How did you all do it? (High-res pix greatly appreciated)...   :)

Crow T. Robot / Wacky jaw
« on: July 01, 2015, 12:51:59 AM »
I'm having trouble keeping Crow's jaw in a stable, up-and-down path. I'm using the leather hinge and elastic cord looped through two small holes in the "e" and two small holes in the lower pin, knotted on the inside. But when I pull the string to make his mouth open, the lower jaw often goes nutso--left, right, sometimes even tilting a little sideways. It's sheer luck if it manages to go back into place when closed. I'm obviously doing something wrong, but can't see how to fix it. Ideas, hints, suggestions welcome!

Crow T. Robot / CPVC lengths?
« on: May 09, 2015, 12:58:35 AM »
Ron, I've seen your very helpful picture of the various sizes of CPVC used for Crow, and how they fit into each other. But I can't seem to find their lengths anywhere. I figure everyone's mileage may vary slightly from build to build, but a ballpark idea of what I should pick up at the hardware store would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to shell out for way more than I'll need if I can avoid it. Thanks!

Bot Building - General Discussion / Randy at Lil' Monsters?
« on: April 17, 2015, 07:35:17 AM »
I keep seeing tantalizing references to "Randy at Lil' Monsters" and the amazing bot parts he makes, but for the life of me I can find any way of locating this fine fellow. Most references are a couple years old, so maybe he's not in the biz anymore, but there are one or two posts that suggest otherwise.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, if in fact Randy is still active in the bot part world?

Buy / Sell / Trade / Lookin' for Crow parts, hopin' for evil

Is this mic on?

Hi everyone, I've just finished my Servo, and now I'm starting down that long Crow road. I have my Cooper XL7 and one Tupperware Floralier already, but now I'm looking for...well, everything else. I'd prefer the "real" parts, but can be tempted with resin copies if the price is right.

Does anyone have any Schwarz soap holders, Empire bowling pins, fanny grabber pinchers, etc. that you're willing to part with? PM me, and let's discuss...

Thanks, and hope to hear from some fellow obsessives soon!
