If there's enough interest and support for a scan, that would be cool. I live just South of Houston, TX.

I'll get my Gypsy set up for her reference photo shoot in the next couple of days.

The bad news is I just called the 3D scanning company I mentioned, and their rate for scanning an object like this is prohibitive.

The good news is, I DO have a Gypsy that I will take apart and set up for reference pictures for you. I will also continue to look for a way to get the parts scanned locally that won't cost a month's rent.

Well, I completely forgot about this. xD And after I said I hadn't! Got busy with the Winter holidays and all that.

I have a convention in two weeks that I'm making a mad dash to prepare for. After that, I'll get back on looking into scanning Gypsy!

Hi! I haven't forgotten. I simply wasn't able to muster up the time or energy yet. I'll snag some reference shots tonight and contact the scanning place tomorrow!

I was lucky enough to get my hands on TWO at the same time back in the days of the Yahoo! Group. I already sold my extra, sorry.

I've discovered a place that specializes in 3D scanning and reverse engineering here in town. I'm going to get some pictures of my Gypsy head tonight and I'll contact them to see what the cost would be to scan and release the files.

I need to get my Gypsy off the shelf and finish up work on her anyway. I'll see what I can do to get some good measurements and pictures sometime later this week.

I will also look into getting her scanned locally. I know of a few maker spaces that might be able to help.

Hello, Sirs!  Yes, I do still have these pictures, but I unfortunately haven't had any time to go through my posts and replace the links. In the meantime you can view the unsorted pictures here: Doctor Snarkticon's Vacation Photos.

UPDATE: Image links in the thread have been updated!

Unfortunately photobucket has decided to discontinue it's years-long tradition of free third party image hosting.

I've setup my own website that will showcase all of my props and costumes projects, and I will hopefully be able to link from the photos there to replace all the broken links in this thread.

Thanks, Dan!

My bot building is currently on hold as I've begun the process of reorganizing my garage workspace. This will take a while. xD

You're not kidding about that, Dan! The hardest part of building Gypsy is finding a Love Seat. The second hardest part is working up the courage to cut it up!

Last week I laid down a purple base coat. I used Rustoleum Gloss Grape for this since I already had it on hand.

Last night I sprayed the Purple Metal Flake. It's a bit darker than I was expecting, but I think it turned out nice.

I painted the Eveready cowl white for the Season 1 look. If I decide I don't like it later, I'll just take it off.

Here you can see the beginnings of her PVC skeleton/control rig and a vacuformed control knob I got from Mitchell
