In issue 5.2 of the Satellite News it said that the last door in the Mike Door sequence used the Buggy's wheel as the handle.

Cracks, scratches, and chips are 100% show accurate! ;)

That being said, Future makes some nice acrylic polish... don't use much, and don't scrub hard.

According to folks at PuppetGarage (who did the modifications to Bob's original builds), it's just a heated and formed PVC pipe.
