I've been meaning to start a topic on this for a while.  Glad you beat me to it!  Awesome images, Ron!

Every time I've passed one of these Megazords in a store since April, I've instantly thought of these guys!  If they weren't so expensive, I'd nab one or three and build these guys!  They'd be fun, easy props to build, provided I skipped the complicated looking "breakaway" aspect.  ;)

Also, months of digesting more knowledge on the topic of sandcastle molds than ANY human should ever attempt to do (all for the love of Waverly) has given me a trained eye, and, well... does Slappy have half a sandcastle for a face?  Of course Slappy does!

He's Slappy!

Damn. Good eye man!

Very nice!  I dig your Tom and that awesome Cambot, too!

Thank you guys. Cambot actually lights up with a recording eye and digital ID tag of 00.00.00  on the side like the show. I just wasn't able to plug him in to charge before taking this. Tom's head is also interchangeable with his "hair cut" head.

Sorry about the cluttered background. The work bench is the only place I can put these guys for the time being. I'm obviously a horror movie buff ,and Friday the 13th part 2 has a special place in my memory bank. I also agree she was the best female lead in the series ,and an awesome person to meet in person.

Other random MST3k related items in the picture includes my Nanite (with his Union sign). I'll need to make a few friends for him at some point.  A 1961 Reptilicus comic book (yes... they actually made a comic book... two in fact) ,and a random Mr. C.More Bunz toy box (related to Tom Servo).

I finally finished up my Crow this week. It was a fun yet challenging adventure.

Now I need to focus on a particular elusive purple vixen.

I think I see what happened. There are two emails on the website. I bet he no longer uses the one I was attempting.

No biggie at all. The second email address seemed to go through.  So hopefully I'll be able to get him some cash and get Crow finished up soon.

The enamel jars are fine. I had no problems with the dry time personally.  I used primer first and then went over it.

I used this method on the regular and "hair cut" gumball machine without any issues.

Normally I would. Unfortunately the email on his website is coming back as undeliverable ,and he never replied to my eBay emails. I just missed out on one a few days ago for around 60.00.   He does do great work however.   Lol

Thank you everyone. I tried to make it look as close to screen accurate as possible. (Without the real parts).

My son was born shortly after I posted this. So I haven't had much computer time lately ,but I'll try to post a tutorial as soon as things calm down a bit.

Other MST3K Related Bots / Cambot - Season 7
« on: April 29, 2017, 12:19:49 PM »
Hey guys. I'm new to bot building ,but wanted to share my recent Cambot build from season 7.

I tried to get fairly screen accurate for my limited budget ,but I think it turned out pretty good.

Building materials :

- Two Copco lettuce crisper bowls.
- Clear plastic sheets (to go around the center) ,and for the lens.
- PVC pipe in the middle to hold the pieces together ,and for the recording eye socket.
- Programmable LED Name Tag
- Hydrofarm black tubing (for the inside of the lens)
- Black velcro from an old camera bag
- Hard plastic cup. Cut to size.
- Lots of electrical tape.
- Picture Hanger / Wire

The eye is ran off of a 9 volt within the lens ,and a small cord runs out of the back to charge the led name tag.
