I'm making a new Crow and I wanted to film the progress so I decided to make a miniseries on how to make your own Crow!  Enjoy!

Tom Servo / Re: Servo substitute bowl at Kohl's
« on: July 31, 2011, 12:33:33 AM »
Hahahaha, I was just in Orlando today.  There's a Kohl's near me in Tampa...I'll check em out and see if they have any.  I'll measure them as well.

The shape looks great, but they do look a like a bit on the small side.

And yeah, MST3KGuy just got a Boo Bowl, so hopefully he'll start selling replicas of them soon.  His bowls are great and fairly cheap too.

Yeah, I get my Testor's spray can paint at Hobby Town...just found out there's one fairly close to my house.  That paint is a PITA to work with though, lol.

I also tend to rush stuff...even with my base coats.  Almost messed up my barrel when I was painting it but thin coats is definitely the way to go.

What event was that? I gotta give her credit for throwing some arms on, there are some pretty accurate Crows out there that have everything but the arms.

If you're referring to me, I just now putting the arms on my Crow, lol.  Convincing my parents to get $50 worth of bot parts, isn't an easy feat.

Parts Sourcing / Re: Stats Bowling Set

Yeah, very dense plastic, which is perfect attaching the heavy hockey mask to.  I heard that the hockey mask can warp the pin overtime. :\

MST3KGuy (Bob from the Botbuilders Yahoo group) has resin rotocast E pin replicas for $20 (as of 3/21/11)
$20 for a set or each?

Each.  Since their hand cast and they're from a rare "E" pin, it's a fairly good price.  I don't tell my parents though when I discuss bot parts with them. LOL

Those bots look MINT!  I seriously can not wait for this. :D

The pattern worked out great.  My mom made the suit for me and she did a beautiful job.  It's both a snap and a zipper on my suit.  One tip is to go with light-weight fabric...Florida heat sucks hard. LOL

I'm probably gonna get a custom-sized patch as well.

MST3KGuy and Randy from Lil' Monsters are both working on Cooper XL7 replicas.  They should be ready soon...hopefully.
