Updated Bot designs

So, as I await the arrival of my bot parts and continue my search for Gipsy parts, I started to think about bot design. Or rather, if the show was being produced today, what would the bots be made from? I figure the designs would be fairly similar to what we all know, but with what would Joel have built them today? What do we see a surplus of now? Any ideas?

All the bots that Joel produced over the years (he used to make the sell them on the side as part of his standup / magician act) were sourced from a charity thrift shop in Minneapolis.  Field trip? Heh.
