I'm looking into making a replica of the desk console dealy thing that they have on the SOL, you know, the one with the three lights?

^That thing right there.
I was wondering if anyone knows the definite parts that are used to make it?
From what I can make out, the buttons themselves are transparent spray can lids that have been given a light coating of spraypaint (possibly the three colors of testors, considering they seem to be red, yellow/gold and purple), and the front detail is pieces of corrugated drainage tubing.

The console looks a bit different throughout the years, so I'm assuming it was remade numerous times.

I got all of these images through google image search, at some point I'll pop in my Shout Factory dvds on the computer and get some higher res screenshots, but this one photo in particular has me interested, it looks like there's some sort of venting/ridges along the top of console.

Was there a specific item used as the base, was it scratch built? I'm curious because I'd love to make my own as accurate as possible, and hey, I'm sure we'd all love to know!
Thanks for reading, and I hope you fine folks can help!
