Crow Neck Detail
« on: March 13, 2011, 06:11:25 PM »
There's always been a lot of fret and worry Crow's neck detail...  and if there's anything that's consistent about it, it's the inconsistency across the series.

Here we are in Season 2's Catalina Caper...  it's like a freaking coffee can!

Season 3's Pod People

Season 4.... Teenagers from Outer Space

Gunslinger... Season 5

Season 6... Bloodlust

MST3K: The Movie... man... check out that paint job... yuk.

The end, or the begining?  706.... Laserblast

Proof that they can't even get the neck length right in the same scene...  Season 8's Time Chasers.

Werecrow... nice.  Season 9's Werewolf

We wrap things up with Season 10's Future War

So, find something close, and don't worry about buying $50 scuba tubes... not even the Brains are going to know the difference.

Hey Ron,

Here's some neck photos from a couple of Crows. Highly researched- I built them in a season 5-7 sort of thing! Those are mountain bike shock boot covers for the neck tubing! Hi-Keeba!

Wow Gary! Look at that paint job on Crow... amazing! You truly are the master and I tip my hat to you sir.

I always liked using vacuum cleaner hose for Crow's neck detail. Here are a couple of shots:

I wedge it over the top of a PVC connector to compress the ridges a bit, then I glue the connector to the piece of PVC that goes flush against the top floralier tray, paint it all black and viola!

Pretty much any kind of ribbed tubing works, it just depends on what you as the builder find preferable.

I talked to Bob a week ago, and He said that it took a long time for him to find the right tubing, he said it was black air hose tubing and it was pretty pricey, I've done some searching on the web and not found anything identical to the ribbing that came with my crow kit. ???
