Attatching the black bits to the hoverskirt
« on: October 14, 2015, 10:47:13 PM »
I'm so close to finishing my Servo but I've hit a snag. I don't know how I'm supposed to attatch the black pieces to the hoverskirt. I got the kit off eBay and the instructions don't mention it at all. They're hollow inside, and there's nothing for glue to grab onto without overflowing

Is there something I'm missing?

Show accuracy demands using a long drywall screw to secure the turbo train to the bowl... but you could always tape the tops of the trains in place, and then use a heat gun to "coax" them into following the curvature of the bowl.... from there, just use two sided tape, or glue them down.

I used a combination of epoxy, hot glue, and black magic on my Servo.  ;D

The drywall screw method is probably the most secure way to do it though.

Recently I'v given up completely on hot glue, I used 2 self drilling drywall screws for each hoverskirt detail.

The drywall screw method also seems to coincide with the trains looking "fatter" on Servo's built later in the show's run.... its really that they're just screwed down too tight, which caused the vacuformed train to flatten out.

I'm a fan of either style.
