I'd be more than happy to handle the cost or split it with you.

Hi! I haven't forgotten. I simply wasn't able to muster up the time or energy yet. I'll snag some reference shots tonight and contact the scanning place tomorrow!
Uh ... I'm gonna go clean his room, too.

Any movement on scanning the seat?  I've been really, really, really eager to build myself a Gypsy.

Ready to throw some money at someone.

Cheers,

Ted.

Well, I completely forgot about this. xD And after I said I hadn't! Got busy with the Winter holidays and all that.

I have a convention in two weeks that I'm making a mad dash to prepare for. After that, I'll get back on looking into scanning Gypsy!
Uh ... I'm gonna go clean his room, too.

The bad news is I just called the 3D scanning company I mentioned, and their rate for scanning an object like this is prohibitive.

The good news is, I DO have a Gypsy that I will take apart and set up for reference pictures for you. I will also continue to look for a way to get the parts scanned locally that won't cost a month's rent.
Uh ... I'm gonna go clean his room, too.

Reference photos would be grand.  I can model it up.

If we, as a community, want a scan...we could always "pass the hat"

what part of the world are you in?

If there's enough interest and support for a scan, that would be cool. I live just South of Houston, TX.

I'll get my Gypsy set up for her reference photo shoot in the next couple of days.
Uh ... I'm gonna go clean his room, too.

Good day Bot engineers:
Dropping in during good weather is hard to do, however i had a thought.
Gypsy parts are all but dried up and gone forever.
This winter i would be willing to "Experiment" and incur the cost to Tool-Up a Gypsy Parts Mold(s).
My mold(s) would "Copy-Exact" in Fiberglass Parts.
Ah, The Mold!
You want Exact copy(s) of the parts? i only need the Original parts to copy from.
8 out 10 chance the Original will survive the "Plug Mold" making process with little damage.

The reproduced part(s) would likely be no Thicker the the original piece(s).
The weight of the parts would be a few ounces more per part.

Whoever wishes to Donate/Loan the part(s) to be reproduced will get the surviving parts back and one heck of a deal on laminated parts for life......

By September i like to have winter projects planned, you Engineers have till then to think about who is kicking down Original part(s).

Best i can do for the Forum.
Besides, i love the smell of Catillised Resin in the morning...........     Cheers.

Anyone had time to dig out their Gypsy?
My engineer has been warned that he will be doing a model of the car seat...just need reference images with scale.
