"Severe Shortage of Floraliers??"
« on: May 20, 2016, 04:04:12 PM »
Okay I was looking up Bob's kits and he said

"NOTE: Due to a severe shortage of the Tupperware vases used to make Crow's torso there may be extended handling times shipping some kits. I can ship each kit as soon as a Tupperware set is made available to me. If you need your kit quickly I can provide you with two cast Tupperware panels instead of a one real panel and one cast. Please check with me before ordering about possible delays."

WHAT'S WITH THAT? Are they becoming rare because of the new show?  :o

Remembering back, there was a shortage of Floraliers when the show was still in production... BBI did all sorts of nice stuff for fans who sent sets in for the show.

Ultimately though, the fan largess ended up being used to build props for the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain :\

I've been looking for Floraliers during every thrift store, flea market and garage sale visit I've made over the past 18 years. Not once have I found one in the wild.

I suppose it's safe to say now... but I donated some Floralier to the new season of MST.

Well two months ago, I bought this Floralier set off of eBay, so you're correct Ron.

On Memorial Day, just two days ago, I went to a MASSIVE antique store in my area that I had somehow never been to.  I was on the lookout for any bot parts I could find, especially Cambot fruit bowls, that weird two part plastic stand that looks a heck of a lot like KTMA Servo's hoverskirt, KTMA Gypsy car seats, and really any other parts I could find.  It was an ambitious list, and while I didn't find any of those specific things, I did end up spotting, buried in a sea of white Tupperware...

...a single, solitary, and completely intact Floralier.

I was pinching myself.  Rare or not, it was an awesome find!  They are still out there, so keep looking, my fellow MSTies!

Bob has removed the shortage message from the description so there's that.
Try not to get sucked into the vortex of hell Billy!
