KTMA Satellite of Love Discussion
« on: January 14, 2017, 02:30:21 PM »
did anyone made this satellite of love from KTMA?

On the Kickstarter page, it says that its made from some Christmas tree lights, a couple of badminton rackets, and a game called Gnip Gnop.

Joel also said that Crow's net is from a lacrosse helmet.

Joel gets things wrong sometimes... lol.

I know this is an old post, but the main body does seem to be a Gnip-Gnop (the same game Crow's eyes are from). I was thinking about making one, seeings as the game is, like, 20 bucks on eBay.

I've been thinking of making one too.  Like you said, the game is cheap, and it would be an easy enough build.  The only problem is that it'll be pretty big when it's done.  Somewhere out there, once on the original mst3k.com and now buried in the deep recesses of the internet, is a picture of Joel standing behind a wall with this thing attached on the other side.  It's the only other picture I've ever seen of the KTMA Satellite of Love, and it'd be invaluable for scale reference if anyone wants to attempt a build.

I'll try to find the pic and post it here.

I've seen that picture before. Pretty sure it's on Tom's Temple, that would be a good place to start.

Well, I've scoured the interwebs, and was unlucky in my quest to find that elusive picture of Joel behind the KTMA SOL.

Below is my best attempt to provide you, the people, with this photo: a pic I took with my phone of my TV playing 23 year old home video footage from the 1994 MST3K Conventio-Con Expofest-A-Rama of Kevin and Trace showing photos on a projector to an auditorium of jazzed MSTies.  It's not the best quality, but hey, it's something!
