Has anyone ever cast an original Schwarz Bros. Dish?
« on: August 12, 2017, 03:46:44 PM »
If I had a nickel for every time someone said they were gonna cast a Schwarz Bros. Dish, well...I'd have alot of nickels! :P I've messaged many-a-peoples about it. Has anyone made casts? Do you have pictures? I would really like to see them, you little doo-dads!

Oh, if only I could own a soap dish for my Crow. I'm with you, man.

Just curious, are you ever gonna add a net to your Crow?

I made a one piece mold of an original soap dish with the floral detail, I dug it out of storage today and it still seems to be in good shape. I was originally going to sell these, but PayPal started screwing me over and I kinda gave up on the endeavor. If people are still interested, I could cast some up for you folks. Heads up, they're not gonna be hollow in the back like the original because the molding process messed up doing the upper mold.

I'll take 9.  ;D

Seriously, I'm thinking I might just nab one of these one day.  I recently found a floralier at a local antique store, and the temptation to make a KTMA Crow has been growing.

Same here. I feel like I should do a KTMA Crow before trying to tackle a regular Crow. I think you should sell these on etsy. How much would you sell these for?

I'm pricing out resin at the moment, I prefer Smooth-On because of how high quality it is, and have to measure out how much each cast will use, so I'll get back on price soon. I'd also be willing to trade parts too!  :D

I'd be interested (based on price).

Sorry for dropping off the map there for a bit, but I had some family stuff going on, such is life. But the good news is, PayPal is back up and running!

I've priced out materials, and this is a hefty chunk of resin to cast, would $25-$30 be an acceptable price to you folks?

Also, that first casting is now for sale if anyone is interested, it was done in Smooth-On Onyx Fast Resin, PM me if interested!
