[MN - Bloomington] Marscon, March 2-4, 2018

Astromech.net and The RPF have a subforum devoted to prop parties, conventions, various events and get-togethers.  I didn't really see a good place to put this, so I guess I'll put it here.  I should have thought of posting here earlier, but I guess the get-together areas of The RPF and Astromech had my attention.

For the last 10ish years or so, a plucky band of mostly Minnesotan based prop builders and collectors have been putting on prop displays at local conventions.  Our first Propatorium was at Marscon, and Marscon is coming up again in just over a month and a half.  https://marscon.org/2018/index.php  It's a fun, family friendly, fan run convention.  There are also parties, a Dementia Music track (think Dr. Demento, who has also been here), costumes, masquerade, Science Room, Art Show, and the regular convention things.  I've got a load of pics from a few previous conventions posted here:   https://www.flickr.com/photos/24502629@N04/albums  In the Propatorium, we have blasters, phasers, pulse rifles, Golden Idols, magic potions, all sorts of mostly SF and fantasy props.  For the past several years, we've also had Daleks, a mobile Tardis and K-9, Crow and Tom.  This year, several local members of the R2 Builders Club will be bringing in a couple R2s, Mouse Droids, and a Gonk, so it'll be extra awesome!  Because, the con's theme this years is "Robots, Rockets and Rayguns, The 3 R's of Sci-Fi."  Sadly, Crow and Tom who appeared last year will not be available this year.  But at least The Saber Legion will be back.  To fight each other.  With lightsabershttp://www.saberlegion.org/  And we should have 4 Daleks, and a load of Cybermen.

The current registration rate through January 31 is $50, after that it goes to the at the door price of $65.  Sorry I didn't post this way sooner to give people more lead time.  We also display at Springcon/MSP ComiCon and at Crypticon.
