The eye mechanism on my Crow recently self-destructed -- the wooden dowel that runs through the CVPC pipe snapped in two. Don't ask, I don't understand how it happened either.
I've never been totally satisfied with the eye mechanism, and am seeking ideas on a better way to re-fabricate things.
When I originally built Crow, I used Joe Crow's method, but I couldn't get the tension right and I later switched to using string attached to screen door rollers on each end of a wooden dowel. However, it's never been perfect. How should I be going about it instead?
I saw an earlier post about Bob Bukoski having the best method, but alas, his website doesn't have directions. Can someone point me to a guide for how does it? I also found Gary's YouTube guides and am considering the way he does things.
Thanks!
